Monthly Roundup - May

Is it me, or do the months seem to be flying past. I thought I would share with you how my month looked. I know we're all in the same boat, so going out, is the new staying home, staying safe.

It started with celebrating VE Day, and I was honoured to be asked to lay the wreath to thank our fallen heroes at our local church. Its been a month of b-b-q weather, and the bears have enjoyed it too.

Lots of baking has been going on; I found a new recipe for Lemon Drizzle, and also making a fair few banana breads.

Some online shopping has been going on too; new bedding from Joules, which was in the sale, and I love it for sure. Also, I was incredibly lucky to pick up my phone at the right time, that an Instagram sale was going on, and I picked up this fabulous Triang Dolls House, which will be going into Bosuns.

Sunny days have meant the top down on the Mini, and we were also allowed to visit the beach hut again.

Over on Instagram, I follow My House this month, which is a account that gives you prompts each day. Well, my craft room was chosen as one of their photos for the day. I was over the moon to say the least.

Star Wars day meant lego out on our table. Sunday church service is also becoming the new normal, as is the grey in my hair! Although I did take the plunge and did a home dye.

We've been supporting local businesses, and they've been finding new ways to keep going, afternoon tea has been one of them. Also plants have been hard to find, so I was over the moon when on one of the few food shopping trips, I found so many.

Dog training restarted again. Its in a big field and they have kept the numbers really low. The groomers re opened as well, and I was over the moon. I didn't mind cutting Simon's hair but didn't want to cut the bears.

U3A have kept in touch via zoom, and this was a flower arranging class. I've been playing with a new cold frothy coffee, and also I've moved the kitchen shelves around in the kitchen and put out more summery feel.

My DIY project this month was sanding down our dining room table, and putting on some chalk oil. I'll share more in a later post, but I'm over the moon with it. It meant that it was the perfect backdrop for another amazing afternoon tea.

Looking forward to what June brings us. Stay safe, dear friends.
